Harmeen Kaur Singh, M.A., R.P.(Q)
Registered Psychotherapist
Harmeen is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, non-profit organizations, and private clinics. Her expertise encompasses working with and assessing clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work related stress, time management and more.
Many clients carry a stigma about therapy and fear being judged, which makes them feel vulnerable. This often leads to reluctance in sharing openly, making it challenging to foster meaningful conversations during early sessions.
I adopt a comprehensive and tailored approach to therapy, recognizing and respecting each client’s individual journey. By fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere, I aim to reduce feelings of vulnerability and encourage open communication.
My goal is to establish a trusting and respectful therapeutic environment where clients feel secure and valued. This approach helps clients overcome their hesitations and engage more fully in the therapy process, promoting their overall well-being and progress.
Ready to take the next step? Contact me today for a free consultation, and I can help answer any questions you may have, tell you about the therapy process and discuss the next steps towards your goals.
Noreen Khan, M.A.C.P, R.P.
Registered Psychotherapist
Noreen Khan is a Registered Psychotherapist, Yorkville University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and an International medical graduate. Over the years, she has worked with and assessed clients with anxiety, panic attacks, health anxiety, stress and burnout, trauma experiences, and much more. She has worked with couples on partnering expectations, boundaries and invitations, building respect and compassion, physical intimacy, conflict resolution, effective communication, trust and integrity, loneliness, in-laws issues, mutual growth and parenting.
After years or even decades of being in a relationship, most couples come into therapy with a wide range of issues or conflict. It is not uncommon that what was once a partnership has devolved into an intractable argument about issues for example, finances, division of household chores, lack of quality time with each other, intimacy issues, family contact, life stages, technology and more. On the other hand, many couples have doubts before coming into therapy about what will therapy help with specifically and/or what and why would therapy be beneficial for them.
Couples Therapy
I use evidence-based couples therapy modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, to identify underlying ineffective communication patterns, strengthen emotional attachment, and cultivate mutual respect, trust, and understanding.
I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where couples can work towards building a fulfilling and lasting relationship. I offer a supportive and accepting platform where individuals are free to explore their feelings and thoughts. My goal is to specifically treat my client’s particular requirements and preferences so that they always feel supported and can move forward with ease.
Individual Therapy
An individual would come to therapy seeking change or navigating a challenging phase of life. They can present as feeling disconnected from their thoughts and feelings, feeling distant from their loved ones, finding themselves losing interest and motivation, procrastinating, changes in eating habits and/or personal habits, uncontrollable and excessive worrying, having negative self-image, difficulties with day-to-day activities, struggling with overcoming fear, etc.
I use a blended and individualistic approach; sampling techniques from several different types of psychotherapy throughout the therapeutic process to accommodate each client’s unique experience, needs, and goals for therapy.
I use evidence-based therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions (MBI), trauma-informed modalities, Solution-focused Focused Therapy (SFT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
